Have you ever heard of St. Thomas, Nevada? Founded by Mormon settlers in 1865, St. Thomas has quite the history; and now, thanks to receding waters due to the drought, we’re getting a look at it for the first time in years. In the 1930’s, construction of the Hoover Dam caused the nearby Lake Meade’s water to rise. As a result, St. Thomas flooded, forcing all of the remaining residents to evacuate completely by 1938. What’s left is a fascinating ghost town, a slice of life preserved underwater. Get a closer look in the video below from CNN.
