Recently as many as 300 teenage girls were kidnapped by the Islamic militant terror organization Boko Haram. These young girls were forcibly taken from their school while attempting to peacefully pursue their education. The girls’ captor, Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, has said he plans to sell the girls into marriages and sex slavery.
This appalling, inhumane crime has ignited an international effort to rescue the girls and brought to the forefront the unique challenges faced by girls as they seek educational opportunity.

The Literacy Site and the GreaterGood Network have supported girl-focused education opportunities for years through Gifts That Gives More dedicated to the cause. We believe girls have a right to pursue their education in a safe environment. They have the right to the same opportunities and dreams as boys. Organizations like Boko Haram are categorically opposed to this idea.
You can help make educational equality a reality for a girl in need by donating to any of the 14 girl-focused causes. Your gift makes a profound difference for a young woman, giving her the opportunity to achieve the potential groups like Boko Haram fear so much.
